I still don't understand why people do that, though.

Now, back when I had a tuba, I would go outside and play the National Anthem on it at midnight, as loudly as I could. That made some sense, although it probably annoyed the heck out of my neighbors.

Here's a girl doing that:

from numerous directions. Someone a few blocks to the NW burned through a box of ammo, while a closer person opted for both barrels of a shotgun. That one rattled the windows and scared the cat. Oklahoma, where its not just the wind sweeping down the plains.

My cousin pointed out it was different than fireworks. We saw and heard gun shots in San Francisco.

has been around for decades, but I noticed a significant uptick in fireworks, and less firearms this year.

One year I was scared a bullet was going to come through the roof. One of the joys of living in the 'hood. :/

Where I"m at now it's mostly firecrackes/m80s.. I do hear an occasional gun but not like before.. yikes.

No shotgun blast during dove season or the super sonic crack of deer rifles this deer season. Last night there were no fireworks. I don't know what it means.

Granted the gunfire might be louder so it carries further, but still, it was quite unsettling.

Years ago I'd stand out in the (empty) street and look at all the fireworks going off, but for the past few years I hunker down inside my house to avoid bullets, and I worry about them coming through windows.
