We Will Lose By Always Staying On The High Road. We Look Like Cowards.

We are going to have to get in the trenches against the GOP and its allies if we are to take the offensive in this fight. In Vietnam our troops fired back in kind so we could go on offense. Staying on the hight ground as noble as it is loses the war because it is mostly a defensive strategy. So unless were are willing to counter attack in kind and more against all these GOP pundits who control the message we will be on the losing end of the battle.

Yes I do believe that staying on the high road is noble and a worthy goal. We are past that time because the GOP will double down on all their absurd lies and accusations and actions while we stand flat footed and complain. Unless we are willing to make a mad charge at them even to the point of ridiculousness we will get hammered.

Allowing all the hate to flow continually without some kind of nuclear response just makes matters worse. All I see is the velvet glove response while we are seeing beaten with a verbal ball peen hammer. We looks like losers the way things are now. And unless were are willing to mock Trump and the GOP mercilessly without any apology we are going to lose more and more.

No more apologies! Fuck that shit. They are installing a racist sexist conspiracy monger for president. I think we should never apologize again.

It is vital that we avoid all hypocrisy, and stick to the moral high ground. That doesn't preclude playing hardball in the political and media marketplace, but it does require that we stick to the facts as we know them and that we never knowingly lie. If we use their nefarious and hypocritical methods we will become them.

Because of that fear campaign. The same would be true if they picked up republican tactics some reccommend. It would backfire because just like republicans they would start using it against each other in primaries.

I saw it in action when a primary campaign smeared the opponent ruthlessly and took out the best candidate. His oppenent won the first time, but not the second, and we have had republican since.

It is easy to become what you hate. We can be a bad ass on the high road. We want to play dirty then we are dirty.

Thank you, Nitram!

I was talking about counter attacking, going on the offensive and other ways about responding to them. We have to answer back aggressively and sharply with no apologies. If a name we call them is the truth we must be willing to use it. The GOP is racist. Call them that directly. Quit mincing words and talking around it. Be blunt and vocal. We just do not respond. If they lie call them liars to their face and on the spot. Interrupt them or tell to shut up it's your turn when they butt in.

Go after them and challenge their bullshit and tell them so.

We fired back in kind when attacked and we took the offensive in a very big way. Vietnam has been seen as a loss. But we usually won the battles we fought at great cost to them in so many ways. Vietnam failed because the Vietnamese could not sustain the fight. We tried to prepare them to defend their own country. They did not have the will.

So I disagree with my comparison because our troops fought ferociously despite problems. We often too the battle to them and hurt them. The war as a whole was a mistake because we misjudged the will to fight by the Vietnamese.

Plus there was a real possibility to to end the war in 1968 that Nixon and the GOP sabotaged which is now out. The North Vietnamese were willing to end it until Nixon told them he would give them a better deal than Johnson. That was treason and the GOP also knew about it yet said nothing.

to get dirty.

That said, I think Nitram on post #3 made an excellent point about fighting hard and fighting dirty.

I'd probably say there were many shades of "fighting dirty".
