...GOPers distancing themselves from Paul Ryan:

* And GOPers distancing themselves from Paul Ryan: Denny Rehberg, the House GOPer running for Senate in Montana, is up with a new ad that distances himself from Paul Ryan, noting that he refused to vote for a “budget plan that could harm the Medicare program so many of Montana’s seniors rely on.” This affirms the Dem talking point that Ryan’s plan would be destructive to the program.

This coes after a West Virginia Congressman put out a mailer touting his vote against the Ryan budget, prompting Michael McAuliff to suggest that this may be “just the begining of an anti-Paul Ryan trend.”

WASHINGTON -- As both Democrats and Republicans try to make the November election a choice over competing economic visions for the country, not all congressional Republicans are fans of the GOP budget approach as crafted by Rep. Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) and embraced by the party’s presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Ten Republicans in the House voted against the blueprint earlier this year, including freshman Rep. David McKinley (R-W.Va.), who is now trumpeting his opposition to the Medicare changes in mailers home to voters in his northern West Virginia district.

“Congressman McKinley recently voted against the 2012 budget passed by the House because of the plan’s negative impact on northern West Virginia seniors,” reads a flier from the congressman’s office. “The plan would privatize Medicare for future retirees, raise the retirement age…. The Congressional Budget Office determined the plan would nearly double out of pocket health care costs for future retirees.”

But Democrats continue to believe that the Medicare changes proposed by the GOP are unpopular with voters, pointing to the Democrats’ special election victory in the GOP-leaning southern Arizona district once held by former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, where Democrat Ron Barber defeated the tea party Republican, Jesse Kelly, after hammering the Medicare issue.

Romney On Passage Of Ryan Budget: 'We Are Making Progress'

Mitt Romney issued the following statement on Paul Ryan's budget plan passing the House of Representatives Thursday:

We are making progress. The House of Representatives has unanimously rejected President Obama’s vision of an America with higher taxes, unlimited spending, and expansive government. Owing in no small part to the leadership of Paul Ryan, it has put conservative fiscal principles into action and passed a bold budget that directly addresses the drivers of our nation’s spending crisis. The House budget and my own plan share the same path forward: pro-growth tax cuts, getting federal spending under control, and strengthening entitlement programs for future generations. I look forward to working with Congress to achieve fiscal discipline and passing a budget that moves us toward a simpler, smarter, and smaller federal government.

Top White House Adviser Labels Ryan Budget 'The Romney-Ryan Plan'

In an apparent new messaging tactic for 2012, White House senior adviser adviser David Plouffe labeled the new Paul Ryan budget the "Romney-Ryan plan," seeking to tether the GOP presidential frontrunner to the budget blueprint released last week.

"The Ryan plan -- which, by the way, is supported by the presidential candidates. So Mitt Romney is the frontrunner, this is really the Romney-Ryan plan," Plouffe said on Fox News Sunday. "It will be rubber-stamped if Mitt Romney is elected president. It fails the test of balance, and fairness and shared responsibility. It showers huge tax cuts on millionaires and billionaires, paid for by seniors and veterans."

"The right approach is the president's approach," he added, grilled by Chris Wallace on the president's budget. "That also allows our economy to grow. It doesn't strangle education, doesn't gut investments in clean energy. So, it's the right path to grow the economy and reduce the deficit."

That's where the focus of Rove's money will go...and a lot of it to lie about Ryan's plan and slime Democrats. They've seen that if you flood the airwaves with lies enough people buy them along with revving up the base via hate and religious radio. I'm not seeing a lot of pushback going on and the DCCC and DNC can't assume that people know how draconian the Ryan scam is. People may not like Rmoney but still pull the lever for teabaggers and other rushpublicans who could win enough seats to keep both bodies dysfunctional for years to come. My hopes are hard work on the ground can still make a difference...

They need to get the guy who spews vile disgust in political ads to include "Paul Ryan" on a regular basis. After all even the independant sheeple are conditioned to jerk at this voice.
