CNN host speechless after Trump spokesman admits they have no response to possible Russian hacking

President-elect Donald Trumps spokesman Sean Spicer unloaded on CNN host Alisyn Camerota on Mondays New Day. In a typical interview, Camerota hammered Spicer, who refused to relent to facts or even polite niceties.
Camerota asked Spicer what Trump knows that the rest of the world doesnt when it comes to the Russian hacks. Spicer claimed that Trump is privy to a lot of classified information, intelligence reports. However, Trump admitted hes not received an intelligence briefing on the Russian hacks and would do so this week. Spicer also claimed that Trump is getting briefed daily by his national security team, but Trumps team also admitted that Trump is only taking his daily briefings a few times a week.
Spicer insisted that the intelligence report isnt a final one and Trump plans to wait until it is final to conclude anything. This also seems to go against anything Trump has said in the past several days about the Russian hacks. The president-elect has said time and time again that the Russians were not behind it and called the CIAs reliability into question because they were wrong on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Camerota refused to let Trump off the hook. I said alleged hacking, she clarified. I want to get back to my question. Is Mr. Trump, who said hes going to reveal something, he says he knows things.

(30,058 posts)information. I guess this is a way for Trump to continue with his denial of Russian hacking occurring because he has not received the security briefings. This sounds like a small child in denial, he is playing school yard bully pulpit.
His spokes persons have ask for the bashing of Trump to stop, using Trump's reasoning of if he is attacked he will attack back, well guess what, there have been many groups who have been bashed by Trump, so we attack him on his actions and words.

(7,433 posts)Trump has no loyalties to the US. He's beholden to Russia. He's a Russian Asset. They have him over a barrel. He can't display antagonism toward Putin or Russia. He can't oppose Russia because he can't bite the hand that feeds him. Putin has mountains of material for blackmail. They know what kind of toilet paper Trump uses, for God's sake.
And the media? Jeez. They're as complicit as Trump and McConnell. This is a scandal and a string of treasonous crimes so numerous and dangerous that no one DARE describe it the way it actually is. Leadership in both parties absolutely refuses to acknowledge what's happened: Putin has engineered a coup. He got his lackey into the White House and has surrounded him with a small contingent of Russian assets.

using Iraq as an excuse to discount Russia's hack is comparing apples to oranges. the media should be calling them out on that.

(7,016 posts)The media was complicit in selling the WMD bullshit coming from the Bush. WE have to call the media on that. They helped to gin up that war. That's why they let that "wrong on WMD" lie slide. It's disgusting.

(86,682 posts)they are telling the truth in a convoluted way... there was no "wrong" by the Intel agencies on Iraq WMDs, and they know it but framing their argument by comparing that lie to the new lie it makes two negatives which end up as a positive. It's so simple...

(23,710 posts)I heard the interview over Sirius. Alisyn Camerota held her own against the rapid fire talk of Spicer. She kept trying to get him back on point. He kept trying to deflect. Any sane person listening would have to say he was just uttering a mouthful of bullshit.

(79 posts)It really does not help matters when FoxNews runs stories that also doubt the Russian hacking.. Where exactly are people suppose to get honest reporting?? So frustrating and such a mess that news organisations just can't report actual news anymore..

(14,919 posts)during the campaign by asking if Trump would produce a letter from the IRS confirming that he was actually under audit, as he kept claiming that as an excuse for not releasing his taxes. For once, Kremlin Kelly had no glib pivot, but looked shocked and said "Whaat?!" Alisyn repeated the question, at which point Kremlin Kelly recovered enough to go on the attack with "Are you accusing him of lying?" , etc. But I had to give Camerota props for asking a good question, and one that answered itself in the fact that no such letter has ever been produced by the Trump kampf.
