Majority of Americans Unconvinced Trump Can Handle Nation's Top Job

Majority of Americans Unconvinced Trump Can Handle Nation's Top Job
Jon Queally
Common Dreams

With his inauguration now less than three weeks away, a new survey shows a majority of the American people are far from confident that Donald Trump, a former reality television star who won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, is up to the major tasks entrusted to the President of the United States.

According to results released by Gallup on Monday, "less than half of Americans are confident in [Trump's] ability to handle an international crisis (46%), to use military force wisely (47%) or to prevent major scandals in his administration (44%)."

Those numbers are far lower than measures taken on Trump's most recent predecessors—Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton—all of whom had percentages close to 70% in each of those categories prior to their taking office.

It was fun to vote for him, wasn't it?

But you're married to him now and no divorce in sight.

We have to wait until he fucks up badly enough for even the GOPers realize he ought to be impeached, which shouldn't be too long, but then we get Mike Pence so we're screwed anyhow.

Don't hold your breath: Amendment proposals may be adopted and sent to the states for ratification by either:
A two-thirds vote of members present in both the Senate and the House of Representatives of the United States Congress; or a two-thirds vote of a national convention called by Congress at the request of the legislatures of at least two-thirds of the states. (This method has never been used.) Then 3/4 of the states have to ratify it.

isn't that different than Obama's, Bush's or Clinton's. But Trump has no governing experience and hasn't shown any desire to try to learn in the short term.

All he's done is Tweet very negatively and stupidly. At this point I wouldn't trust him to be president of a McDonald's franchise.
