Job No. 1 when new Congress meets? Dismantling Obamacare - Buffalo News

Congress often waits for a new president to take office before it gets down to business. This year, Republicans will drop that custom in their dash to scrap the Affordable Care Act.

Within hours of the new Congress convening Tuesday, the House plans to adopt a package of rules to clear the way for repealing the health care law and replacing it with as-yet-unspecified measures meant to help people obtain insurance coverage.

Then, in the week of Jan. 9, according to a likely timetable sketched out by Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., the House will vote on a budget blueprint, which is expected to call for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. - The Buffalo News

Don't dilute yourselves. The GOP is not our friend and they make no qualms about taking more away from average Americans and giving it to their rich donors.

Benefits for coal miners suffering from black lung are tied to Obamacare. The donut hole for prescription drugs for seniors will come back full tilt as it was just closing up. Medicare premiums will rise. There will be no more free check-ups or other preventive health services. People who work 30 hours a week will lose employer-provided insurance. Insurance companies will be free to set caps on lifetime coverage again and people with pre-existing conditions will be left hoping they live until they get to Medicare again. The bottom line is that Republicans want all the good things Obamacare provides, but they don't want to pay for it.

But they've had several years to come up with a proposed replacement. I doubt they'll agree on one considering the Teabagger wing of their party seem to be opposed to any healthcare regulations.
