I doubt he could have built his business empire being such a terrible liar - - he must have been good at it at one point. His problem is he simply can't remember his lies like he used to, so he trips himself up all the time as a result.

Also, like most psychopaths, Trump had a superficial charm in his younger days. Now he's just a humorless, addle-brained asshole.

Just look up some interviews from 2010 and compare them to today - - it's clear that mentally Trump has declined significantly.
