i was reading this article (http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/01/politics/week-in-politics-trump-russia/index.html)
and 'Trump to give deposition' was the last paragraph at the bottom of the page:
Trump to give deposition
The deposition comes as part of Trump's legal battle with the chef Jose Andres.
Andres was supposed to launch a restaurant in the new Trump International Hotel in Washington. But after Trump's attacks on Mexicans as he began his presidential
campaign in June 2015, Andres withdrew, and Trump sued him for breach of contract.

(82,849 posts)Reports say Trump raked in $420,000 for hosting this shindig. I wonder if that was done to fund a settlement offer? I don't think Trump is particularly eager to sit down for a deposition right now (or anytime).

(50,561 posts)She's been described as "the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove." She's one of President Obama's appointees. She's spent most of her career in public-interest law.
From President Obama's nominating letter:
Jennifer Di Toro is the Legal Director at the Childrens Law Center where she focuses on seeking safe, permanent homes and access to education and health care for children and families in the District of Columbia. Prior to joining the Childrens Law Center in 2004, she served as a staff attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia in the Trial and Special Litigation Divisions. Di Toro was also an attorney at Zuckerman Spaeder, LLP and a Prettyman Fellow at the Georgetown University Law Centers Criminal Justice Clinic. From 2009 to 2010, she was a Harvard Law School Wasserstein Public Interest Fellow. Di Toro earned a B.A. from Wesleyan University in 1989, an M.Phil. in Modern British Literature from the University of Oxford in 1991, a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1997 and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999.
This is what she looks like:

She's also openly gay. And her name indicates she's got some Mexican heritage.
IOW, this is the last person Trump ever wanted to find on the other side of the bench from him. Which, of course, is good.

Oh, I am sure the media will give this deposition all the breathless attention it gave his $25 million Trump University settlement. You remember, the scandal they covered day in and day out for days, weeks even. </sarcasm>

(11,087 posts)Trump giving a deposition. That means under oath. He has to swear with one hand on the book that contains Two Corinthians that he will tell the truth. They will need the whole seven hours to teach him what "truth" means.
