when many of us said his presidency would be a disaster.
We were wrong.
It was worse than we imagined.
A terrible attack on American Soil.
An immoral and fruitless war.
Torture.
The most inept response to a natural disaster i have ever seen.
The near collapse of the economy.
and more...
And I say this, Trump will be much worse.
Those I hear saying somehow we will moderate his behavior and not wreck the country are just to blind or afraid to deal with what's to come.
It reminds me of the German jews who refused to accept what Hitler was going to do.
I am talking about people I have spoken with in general, not here on DU. I think most here know how bad things can be.

(33,594 posts)those "others" around Bush were immoral monsters. We almost didn't survive, and wouldn't have without Obama.

When challenged about the facts, Schwartz says, Trump would often double down, repeat himself, and grow belligerent.

Blair: Whenever I went to interview him, I always felt like a failure, because he would never say anything. It would just be blather. He would say how great he was, and then I would then get more blather. And that is how he talks on the campaign trail. People always ask me, Is that how he really is?
Hurt: Yeah, thats how he really is.
OBrien: When you hold his feet to the fire on a fact pattern, he does not handle it well. You saw this a little bit in one of the debates, when the Fox host started putting slides up on him. He melted. He actually looked like he was melting.
If Trump doesn't like an idea, he simply doesn't accept it. Look at his blind refusal to accept recent claims by government intelligence.
EDIT: The Dumbya administration was similar, though! I expect Trump to be even worse.

All Paul Ryan has to do is complement him and your Medicare is bye bye.
Again, we are in shock and not yet willing to admit to ourselves that everything we had two months ago, is gone. Everything.

(41,995 posts)Conservative Reoublicans have their agenda planned out, what they want and where they want it. They will completely ignore lessons of the past financially and are still beholden to Tea party activists, which boils down to guns and abortion.
The only good thing that's going to happen is I believe various people are going to get pissed off when they realize they aren't the ones who benefit, and left leaning activists are fast mobilizing protests.

(1,019 posts)never imagined worse than W & Darth Cheney and their evil arrogant lawless cabal. Also, I thought after we barely survived those 8 dark years that we'd never have to do that again!

Trump is harder to predict because he is a loose cannon and because his handlers will likely try to get rid of him at the first convenient opportunity to replace him with the much more compliant Pence. Trump is actually pretty pathetic. Did you note the deer-in-the-headlights look on election night? He has to follow the instructions of his Russian masters or they will whack him. Even if he does everything he is told, they may whack him anyway, for the martyr effect. If I was him I would suddenly develop a debilitating but not fatal disease and resign on day two of my administration.
