Politico has suspended reporter Joseph Williams for saying Mitt Romney seems most comfortable around white folks.

(11,101 posts)but what's the alleged offense here? There is a statement that involves race. Is that it? There is nothing disparaging said about "white folks" that I can tell, or is "white folks" considered a racial slur now?

Second thought: would they have suspended a white reporter for saying the same thing? (And I don't know the answer to that question, it's just what popped into my head - but it's a fair question, I think.)
Third thought: Romney singing* "Who let the dogs out? Who? Who?" to a group of Black children. *cringe*
*Okay, not quite singing, but you know what I mean.
