I like Keith but do not support this. This is why I do not think Keith is a good choice for the DNC chair. We need to win elections and that takes money...we can not reform money in politics until we get back in power...so let's not handicap our people.

(15,438 posts)And why would a DNC chair ban necessary funds to the DNC, tying hands of Democrats behind their backs as the Republicans and GOP move in for the kill with all the weapons they can grab? Doesn't Ellison know that there's such a thing as Citizens United, and until that's repealed, it's a stupid and naive stance to take to ban resources that can help the Democratic Party??
Ugh. Purity over Party, I guess.
Perez now officially has my support for DNC chair.

I am in complete favor of the Dem Party ending its big money affiliations. We are a party of the people.

(6,044 posts)Lobbyists contribute only a small fraction of the money raised by the Democratic Party. And while they do grease the gears in Washington, D.C., theyre paid to do the bidding of other big donors ― CEOs, private equity bigwigs and other well-heeled operators who few politicians are willing to blacklist from the donor rolls.
I don't think Ellison is being upfront here.
The Republican party know what he means, but most Democratic party voters are apt to think he means something. We need transparency.
