Planned Parenthood jokes trigger right-wing meltdown over Fox series The Mick

Conservative culture critics are in a dither over the new Fox network sitcom The Mick because of an offhand mention of Planned Parenthood and the nonprofit’s mission to provide healthcare to 3 million Americans.

~~~
The scene in The Mick is hardly worth noting. Planned Parenthood came up briefly in a discussion between title character Mackenzie “Mick” Murphy (Kaitlin Olson) and her niece Sabrina.
Mick: Okay. So, I have an idea. Ooh! Why don’t we all just hunker down and play poker all night long, until this whole thing blows over?
Sabrina: (Scoffs) That’s not gonna work for me. Yeah, I’m gonna go to this fund-raiser for Planned Parenthood. Probably crash at my friend’s place, go to the city tomorrow. So just don’t expect to see me too much. You know, we probably won’t see each other at all. Hmm. But hey, let’s catch up again in ten years when you need another loan.
Mick: Listen, Sabrina, I got a lot riding on this gig, so can you do me a favor and not be a big, giant, pain in the ass, please?
Sabrina: Maybe you don’t know this, but Planned Parenthood provides health care to over three million women in this country.
Mick: Oh, sweetie, I know all about Planned Parenthood. I should have one of those punch cards that gets you a free sub every ten visits.
Sabrina: Gross.
Mick: No, I just meant… I-I never got, like… Uh… I just had a bunch of bacterial infect– you know what?
Sabrina: Ew.
This was more than delicate conservative sensibilities could bear, apparently.
Commenters on Berry’s post were outraged.
Right-wing Twitter lost no time in announcing its determination to not pay for a show that they weren’t paying for anyway.
Any mention of PP and they wet their pants on cue. Meh. Invest in Depends.
go wash your horse with it.
IMDB has this show popular and rising, even though it's barely started. It's on the FXX channel and the pilot is repeated around midnight tonight. I'm recording it.
(Finding FXX on my cable lineup wasn't so easy)
