Today in Publix I again saw the much touted plastic cover over

the National Enquirer. The thing is it did not cover the top of the rag. There was a picture of Barack and Michelle, a headline that began "Lying Obamas..." and a picture of Hair Twitler. I complained rather loudly about this and the gentleman behind me told me he "100% agreed." He also observed that you could read through the plastic cover.

I am going to see if Publix has an email address and send my complaint to them.

I would be pleased with your decision regarding "The National Enquirer" if the "blinder" actually covered up the entire propaganda rag. Instead, at the checkout today, above the plastic cover, I saw a picture of the President and First Lady, a headline that began "Lying Obamas..." and a picture of a former reality show host who has really bad hair. Please cover the entire paper. The magazine size "blinder" is too small. From my experience in the grocery business when I was young, I am certain your stores have plenty of pieces of cardboard to use until a more permanent solution can be found. Perhaps you could stop carrying this offensive publication, which bears no relationship to reality whatsoever.

Thanks for your time and attention.

And this lil interesting nugget is in there, so they're getting a lot of heat about the NE in general.

(posted December 30, 2016)

Recently, due to continual complaints, Publix added The National Enquirer to the list of titles we permanently cover in our stores. Please know that this decision was based solely on a long history of customer complaints regarding offensive and objectionable material, not in response to a particular cover or any political views.

So they didn't base their decision on one or two isolated incidents.

So it's fair to assume this will be their policy for quite some time.
