WSJ: Donald Trump Plans Revamp of Top U.S. Spy Agency

This dude has basically declared war on the intelligence community. That is NOT a winning strategy, I don't think. This is no small deal. I think we actually will have a Russian mole at the head of our government.

WASHINGTON—President-elect Donald Trump, a harsh critic of U.S. intelligence agencies, is working with top advisers on a plan that would restructure and pare back the nation’s top spy agency, people familiar with the planning said, prompted by a belief that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has become bloated and politicized.

The planning comes as Mr. Trump has leveled a series of social media attacks in recent months and the past few days against U.S. intelligence agencies, dismissing and mocking their assessment that the Russian government hacked emails of Democratic groups and individuals and then leaked them last year to WikiLeaks and others in an effort to help Mr. Trump win the White House.

One of the people familiar with Mr. Trump’s planning said advisers also are working on a plan to restructure the Central Intelligence Agency, cutting back on staffing at its Virginia headquarters and pushing more people out into field posts around the world. The CIA declined to comment on the plan.

“The view from the Trump team is the intelligence world [is] becoming completely politicized,” said the individual, who is close to the Trump transition operation. “They all need to be slimmed down. The focus will be on restructuring the agencies and how they
interact.”

the old school treatment.

If you read the article, it's clear that Flynn has got his ear and that Flynn has a grudge and is feeding the boss's fantasies and fears.

Among those helping lead Mr. Trump’s plan to restructure the intelligence agencies is his national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who had served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency until he was pushed out by DNI James Clapper and others in 2013. Also involved in the planning is Rep. Mike Pompeo (R., Kan.), who Mr. Trump selected to be his CIA director.

Lt. Gen. Flynn didn’t respond to a request for comment and Mr. Pompeo declined to comment.

Mr. Trump shares the view of Lt. Gen. Flynn and Mr. Pompeo that the intelligence community’s position that Russians tried to help his campaign is an attempt to undermine his victory or say he didn’t win, the official close to the transition said

This could get mighty, mighty ugly, mighty, mighty fast.

It's been a liberal talking point for years that the intelligence agencies need a revamp, perhaps even need to be dismantled. Since we can't do a thing about it (and presuming, as always, that President short-attention-span-to-match-his-fingers is serious about this), it should be interesting to watch the equivalent of a blind man trying to repair a delicate watch using a sledgehammer and railroad spikes.

lessons in Cyrillic alphabet and Russian language skills. My mom made my older sister teach me French when we were in Key West during the Cuban missile crisis because she figured I would be able to translate Spanish since they are so similar. She was not sure we wouldn't be overrun by Cubans or not and was pissed at my dad for dragging us down there from a safe place in Maine before we moved to Key West.

He has been prominent for decades, had connections with the mob, etc.. not to mention the rf usdian connections and the myriad of suspicious financial dealings. its very likely they have dirt on him. If Trump wants to destroy him i have little doubt they will fight him.

You poor, misguided boor. You have no idea that when you're trying to bitch-slap the likes of the CIA and the NSA, you're playing with the REAL bullies in the schoolyard do you? These people don't tweet at 3AM about their perceived enemies, they defeat them totally and completely with nary a trace.

Donnie, Dude.... these people can chew you up and spit you out like a piece of bad meat and you'll never even know how it happened.

Think about it Don, your assets are spread out around the world; you can't keep your eyes or you thumb on everything you've got going, can you? So if you want to continue poking this hornet's nest, you're an even bigger fool than any of us ever imagined.

Donnie, these people are professionals at what they do and they do it very well. They don't take being made the butt of your lame jokes or threats lightly. Just remember dude, you started it.

Oh, and if this small revelation keeps you up at nights and sends your paranoia into overdrive....well, shit happens.

... could simply say there's some shit that happened but it didn't turn the election (which I don't believe for a second).

I think its also a deflection seeing Comey was the bigger issue, Silver posted a true turn in the election when comey announced his bullshit.

This was not a free and fair election
