Could Mark Zuckerberg be president in 2020?

Newsweek floasts the prospect. Can you imagine yourself voting for him at all if he proposed a reasonable platform? More likely to get to the White House than Kanye West, one would think.

The rhetoric used in (Zuckerberg's) public Facebook posts often point to ambitions beyond simply growing and developing the world’s largest social network. On the night after Trump’s victory, Zuckerberg wrote: “Holding [daughter] Max, I thought about all the work ahead of us to create the world we want for our children.”

He concluded: “We are all blessed to have the ability to make the world better, and we have the responsibility to do it. Let’s go work even harder.”

As the sixth richest person in the world, Zuckerberg is more “blessed” than most and would easily be able to fund his campaign, while running a platform used by more than a billion people would presumably make reaching out to potential voters relatively easy.

When questioned about his political ambitions by BBC Radio 1 in November, West said: “When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views. I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time to somehow make a difference while I’m still alive, I’m all for it.”

She is considered a genius, valedictorian, graduate degree, Harvard and public college, child of immigrants, person of color, mother, doctor of children, has less oppo, Buddhist, hard to think of a box that she does not check.

first the reality TV president, then the Facebook president. It's like some bizarre alternate history novel: "what if they had TV and the internet during the decline of the Roman Empire?" And he sounds almost as vapid as Trump, if somewhat more articulate (assuming he means what he says and "I don't have any views on politics" isn't shorthand for "I don't want to piss off some significant percentage of Facebook users by declaring political views they disagree with&quot .

He declared a few days ago that he's no longer an athiest. Some speculate that his sudden embracing of religion is another sign of political aspirations since U.S. voters generally prefer their candidates to keep the faith.

Six so far. The 49ers and the Cowboys have won 5. The Patriots 4.

The Steelers could go all the way this year. They have a great offense when Big Ben is hot and they are on a winning streak.

The Cowboys also look impressive and of course there is always Tom Brady and his Patriots.

I'll miss football when the season ends. I always do.

I would love to see the Steelers knock off the Patriots in the AFC championship, but I think N.E. is the the team to beat, unfortunately.

Both teams have explosive offences but Pittsburgh's defense falls short of the Pats': the Steelers allowed 327 points this season, which is better than the league average, but the Pats only surrendered a measly 250, which put them at #1 by a wide margin.

But anything can happen in the playoffs. The Patriots are already without Gronk. Maybe Brady goes down in divisional round. Jimmy Garoppolo looked like a capable starter in the first 4 games of the season but maybe he'll wither under playoff pressure?

Barring something like that, however, my money is on the Patriots (but I'll be cheering against them).

That's one helluva offensive line they have. I do question if Dak and Zeke will be as effective throughout the playoffs due to inexperience, especially if they make it to the Super Bowl and especially if they're facing the wily veterans from New England.

There is a decent chance Atlanta represents the NFC in the finals, IMO. I suppose the way Aaron Rodgers has come on strong late in the season, the door is always open for a Green Bay cinderella story too, but I'm not betting on it.

However their chances of making it to the Super Bpwl went downhill when Carr suffered a broken leg.

Carr was the backbone of that offense. Some games Amari Cooper would have a huge day, other games Michael Crabtree would make the big grabs. The running game by committee has been somewhat successful. Oakland's D needs a big boost for next season if they're going to be a true contender.

We are only considering celebrities because there are so many stupid people who think celebrity actually means something.

How about someone who gets a good education and goes to law school? How about someone who starts out running for local or state office and keeps building experience and a base? How about someone with a history of integrity? How about Russ Feingold?

Otherwise why don't we just go with Kim Kardashian? I'm told she has a better butt than Mark, and that's really important.

On one level I can understand why people think that way, but when people say "we need somebody who is not bought and paid for by lobbyists and corporations" and then proceed to vote for a billionaire who then fills his administration with other rich people and corporate types, it is clear that electing non-politicians is not the answer.

It is unfortunate that Americans no longer value public service because there are some good people in public service despite the fact that Big Money has come to be so powerful in politics.

And I fully believe he's serious when he says his main overriding life goal is making humanity multi-planetary.

One could even argue that's a bigger deal, with larger implications and long-term impact, than 4 or 8 years in the White House.
