It's a world where health insurance companies are jacking up rates, Americans are losing benefits and illness is racking the nation.
This is the apocalyptic picture of America offered by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to describe how he sees the health-care landscape after Republicans gut Obamacare. And he has found a slogan -- borrowing from perhaps the most successful branding campaigns in modern political history -- that he hopes to turn against the GOP repeal plan: "Make America Sick Again."
This is good leadership. Let's hope it's not short-lived. Let's hope he keeps up with this and stays on the attack. Let's hope he calls out their lies. Let's hope he's really in for the 4 years.
Wish I had more confidence....

(8,702 posts)He has already folded several times and co-sponsored a bill with McTurtle to criticize the UN and Obama administration on the UN's Israel vote. His willingness to side with republicans in the past is not a good sign and he is likely to be willing to give up a lot to trump for even the smallest of concession on something small and insignificant but still something that could be spun as a "win" for him.

That said, this is the guy who buried D'Amato.

The sickness coming is not only in heath care. The nation as a whole is going to suffer from the sickness of authoritarianism. The American people need to be made to understand what is happening.
