Joy REID might be a DU reader!1 Now doing the "mob ties" & other DU threads!1

Started off with Russian ties. Then mob: "Goes back years. (Beyond) the '80s '90s when he was having severe financial difficulties. His *father* had ties to the mob. 25% of one of his companies was owned by the mob."

David CORN: "He practically bragged to Tim RUSSERT back in '99, 'Yeah, I've had to deal with the unions, had to deal with the mob...' "

Other guest: Scott DWORKIN, Sr advisor Democratic Coalition against TRUMP, "ties to organized crime been under scrutiny since the 1980s. He IS a mobster."

Next up, "SCHUMER says this will be the accountability congress. (Joy says,) *REALLY*?!1" ELLISON in the next hour.

I follow these people on Twitter and they are on it full time, especially Dworkin. I retweet a lot of stuff just for visibility.

My other favs on MSNBA are Lawrence O'Donnell and Rachel Maddow.

13. And, how does that correlate with the ACTUAL responsibilities of being Party Chair?
Sat Jan 7, 2017, 02:51 PM
Jan 2017

He doesn't set the policies that the Party advocates.

He doesn't serve as THE voice of the Democratic Party.

He doesn't organize "fights".

What he DOES do is:

Manage the national Committee, which is made up of progressives and moderates

Work to organize State and Local Party infrastructure

Raise money to support Party Committees and candidates

15. I seem to attract a lot of Replies of this genre with my posts, for some reason:
Sat Jan 7, 2017, 03:39 PM
Jan 2017

1) I make an offhand remark that is not intended as an exegesis of philosophy, policy, or pontification;

2) Somebody chooses to reply on those other levels; and,

3) I have to delve into a whole morass of what was my context for said offhand remark, in this case being that I had had no exposure to this fellow before, that this first impression of mine was that he spoke with a heck of a lot of insight, determination, and strategy specifically on the job description you so thoughtfully provided, and that he radiated the charisma of leadership, not to mention that in contrast one of his competitors was featured in a clip and just had the look of dreariness and defeat while I'm sure he would be excellent in all of the points in the job description you provided.

******AND THEN, after stage #3 here, in which I provided my detailed justification for (repeating: ) an OFF-HAND remark,

4) the Replier I'm addressing, proceeds to repeat their first patronizing reprimand, usually several times, withOUT ever acknowledging my detailed justification that was specifically responding to their concerns.

5) I finally draw the futile exchange to a close with an assessment that this is an internet discussion board, not a College of Cardinals, Constitutional Convention, or even a political party's organizing body, in which everything has to be treated as if it is a Theorem with implications for the survival of the planet.

But really, it comes down to wishing for a tone of collegiality in dealing with fellow members of DU. So, do me a favor and let's stop here at Stage #3, because I'm not interested in proceeding on to 4 & 5. Ty.

11. Good, maybe she can connect the dots to the IC report, Kremlin propaganda on American news outlets
Sat Jan 7, 2017, 02:46 PM

Right there on page 14!! Some were fake news headlines, but all were designed to be harmful to Clinton and helpful to tRump.

Yes, Fox carried water for the Kremlin's propaganda machine and so did other American RW organizations.

01/06/17 - release of the Intelligence Communities analysis.
On 6 August, RT published an English-language video called “Julian Assange Special: Do WikiLeaks Have the E-mail That’ll Put Clinton in Prison?” and an exclusive interview with Assange entitled “Clinton and ISIS Funded by the Same Money.” RT’s most popular video on Secretary Clinton, “How 100% of the Clintons’ ‘Charity’ Went to...Themselves,” had more than 9 million views on social media platforms. RT’s most popular English language video about the President-elect, called “Trump Will Not Be Permitted To Win,” featured Assange and had 2.2 million views. - TPM Pg 14 of 25

All of them were produced by....?

THE KREMLIN. And rebroadcast by Fox News & RW media outlets to hoodwink American voters into voting for the Russian backed candidate.

Some believe the video announcement by the WikiLeaks founder could be an "October surprise" geared towards the U.S. presidential election. Supporters of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump have said they believe the announcement will be damaging to the candidacy of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
