So which are the Republican who may start standing up to Trump first?

I know they are few and far between. Of course we have McCain and Graham already starting to make noise about Russia but I'm not sure if they are really taken seriously. Corker has grave concerns about repealing the ACA without a plan in place. He has some clout in this. Who else can we focus in on sending information and support to on these issues that could be open to influence?

The way I see it we are dependent upon them to help the process in slowing down at least the steamroller that seems to be heading through Congress and the White House.

If he strays too far right, then Graham & McCain are likely to abandon him. If he goes too far left (he *is* somewhat left on some issues, believe it or not), then people like Rand Paul or Ted Cruz are likely to bolt.

I don't think so.
They are both creatures of "convenience..

Graham, when it is 'convenient' and won't hurt his chances for re-election.

McCain, There is a reason he is sometimes called One Horse Johnny. (Although his horse likes a few different 'dishes.'

They've challenged Trump before and if he stays true to form, he will seek revenge at some point, and then hopefully they will keep their spines.

I have been urging all my contacts in the Red states to contact not their elected Senators and Congress people but also those in the local legislatures as well. I tell them to contact their Local Republican party...We need to send word out that we are watching, and will not be making things easy for them.

and he's head of the Foreign Relations Committee.

A lot of Trump's "policies" are either stupid and/or unworkable. He's going to have his hands full.

You think Democrats are going to vote his ideas? Where do you get that idea? I know it gives some people satisfaction to see politicians screaming about things but ultimately in this battle we need votes in Congress. He's President and McConnell and Ryan are going to milk it for what it's worth. Our only choice right now is to do damage control and provide serious education to hopefully turn the House in two years. Even Impeachment will need persuasive skills on our part..and that will still take up months of damage done on other issues. It's time to stop the mourning and get to work on what we can do now.

When he pushes Ryan's buttons and gets no cash, the big fight will begin.

And of course, if the country survives it, they'll lay blame elsewhere. Obama, probably.

In the meantime, Repugs are in a tough spot (heh heh, what a shame). They finally command every branch of gov't, but there's this thing called "Trump" that causes them BIG trouble, and makes messes wherever it goes. Do they morph the entire GOP into a full-blown Trump Army-- a KGOP? Do Republicans, who let this beast in through the front door, really want to exist in the hellscape of a Trumpistan? We'll see.

Susan Collins and Rand Paul could possibly give him trouble, as well as some of the Republican governors from states that chose to expand Medicare.

He hates Trump and Trump hates him. I'm hoping he might be one that will side with the Senate Dems. Both McCain & Flake are my Senators, so I plan on writing them both a lot over the next 4 yrs.

Am told Senate Republicans are mortified at the prospect of even one Trump nominee going down.

Why? They fear he'll go rogue on them
