"I can't wait for Trumpcare! It's going to be great!"

So we have this young guy at work. He's considered a contractor (despite being permanently employed, coming to work 40 hours a week), so he doesn't get insurance from our employer. Suffice to say, he has a condition that will likely kill him without ongoing medical care. Thanks to the ACA, he has health insurance.

Overall, a nice friendly young guy who is just naive and has never been exposed to any different ideas outside of what one typically will acquire with a high school education in a rural area.

Anyway, tonight he mentioned how his premium went up by some nominal amount, yet he was super excited. Why? Trumpcare. Don't know where he heard it or who told him about it. (whatever Trumpcare is). The guy voted for Trump.

He went on about how Trump was going to make his healthcare even more affordable... and almost like an 8 year old kid excited about his upcoming birthday present quipped, "I can't wait for Trumpcare! It's going to be great!"

I genuinely felt bad for the guy. He has no clue that Trump and his minions are likely going to pass legislation that will literally kill him this year.

It also made me wonder how people in his position (that stand to lose out big time) are going to react when they suddenly realize that they've been bamboozled. These people truly believe that good times are coming for them...

He voted for Trump. It was his decision. It was his responsibility to make a good choice for whom to vote. If he makes a bad choice and dies, that's also his responsibility.

I'll be reminding people frequently of that fact. Government elections aren't the same as class elections in high school. Sometimes people have to learn the hard way. However, many of these people still have learned nothing from the Bush years, so I'm not very optimistic about any epiphanies taking place this time either.

They had some guy on there talking about how the tax cuts are going to spur business and jobs. He and the Host were giddy about it. Trickle down again! No questions to this "expert" about how the tax cuts to businesses has never spurred job growth. Some never learn!

he's going to be mighty disappointed when he finds out Trumpcare doesn't cover pre-existing conditions.

7. My take on how this will end?

Trump and his rethugs in Congress will take away his healthcare--and that of millions of others--and all of those people who are now suffering will find a way to blame Democrats. Same song, second verse.

Trump and his minions first job is to RID healthcare of any subsidies...otherwise it would just be well,uh Obamacare. Trump said when he was campaigning how he'd privatize it.

That clown is a FOOL if he thinks it would be affordable under a Trump and Mitch McConnell plan. Nah...their back to the old worn out Dubya BS or how they'll "allow" you to have a health "savings account". Yep,better start banking TENS OF THOUSANDS of $$$ for that heart surgery or cancer NOW buddy.
