The Limited Is Closing All 250 of Its Stores And Cutting 4,000 Jobs. Where's Drumpf?

And another bites the dust.
Women's apparel chain The Limited on Sunday began closing all 250 of its stores across the United States and is slashing 4,000 jobs, the latest casualty of shopping's move online and the growth of fast fashion chains.
And just like Chico's, Ann Taylor and other women's apparel stores struggling with big drops in sales, The Limited has been struggling with shifts in consumer behavior and interest, a greater number of rivals and longer store leases.
"In an increasingly challenging environment for mall-based retail and women's apparel, we are very disappointed that the company has had to make the difficult decision to close its retail locations," the company's private equity, Sun Capital said in a statement.
A message on The Limited's web site said the retailer would continue to sell items online. But it's not clear how much longer that will last: in December, Bloomberg News reported the company was likely headed for liquidation, and on Friday, Sun Capital said it was writing down the remaining equity value of Limited Stores to zero. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sears , Macys, and Kohl are cutting thousands and thousands of jobs. Why isn't the great orange charlatan picking up the phone and forcing the CEOS of these respective businesses to save those jobs? Those are a lot more than the 700 Carrier jobs he allegedly saved.

so they are not important.

It's also why he hates press conferences-- he might be asked about this in public.

Unemployment is at 4.6% . It is sure to go up. When it goes up The Orange Charlatan, the Deplorables, and the GOP will say, against all evidence, that while there are less jobs available there are better jobs available.

I think Macy's and The Limited have majority female workforce. Don't know about the others.

Possibly the Trump headgear was the signal that only manly man jobs are real jobs and need a government intervention to be saved.

Get a Congressperson's fax, send them a free fax by internet (use cover page for letter, very easy ). Let them know your concerns. I have used the service below and intend to bombard daily if necessary, as long as it's free. A fax means it's physical paper. Someone has to handle it.

and I suspect that many more will depart in this shake out.

I am really sorry for the jobs lost and to be lost, but this world is changing and changing rapidly.
