(65,042 posts)I don't get it. Middle class tax cuts of a percent means $9 to $15 dollars a week. That's just enough to add enough consumption to add a slight inflationary pressure that consumes half of that.
So, they vote for people who want to give breaks to people who will now pay $250k less in taxes so they can end up $5 a week ahead, and then some rich people say "Ok, raise my taxes if you think we'll spend that extra money to help others."
I don't get it either.

If a government interferes with the workings of business, it will be bad for all of us, they believe. To them, America the land of the free means that anyone can become rich, and they want the set up to be there for when they themselves become rich.
To them, there are two kinds of people--those who take care of themselves and those who do not. They consider themselves the good guys, and believe that those others are parasites who will take their chances away, those who are lazy and only want handouts and a nanny state. And those Liberals who enable them!
They see themselves as the ones who are independent, hard-working and virtuous. Those who are not hard-working don't deserve breaks.
