I think there was a conspiracy at the Golden Globes.

Someone early in the evening said "this may be the last Golden Globes" .

I think the actors decided instead of having many small shots at
Trump, they would let one spokesperson have time to do the best job.

They knew Streep was getting that award and they knew she would speak for them.

Well done,Hollywood.

Seriously?

Ratings were up. The show is the third most-watched awards event (after the Academy Awards and Grammys). NBC paid $21 million and clears around $30 million in ad revenue for a single night of tv. And NBC has an agreement, which it fought hard to get and keep, to air the show through 2018.

Anyone with half a brain could foresee that there would be jokes about Trump and remarks critical of him. And no one with half a brain would think that it would have any impact on the future of the Golden Globes ceremony.

The person who said it needs to go look for the other half of their brain.

For being Hollywood.

For being foreign.

For being press.

The trifecta. It was a joke, but born out of despair.

Said he didn't want to be gloomy, but pointed out that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has 'Hollywood,' 'Foreign' and 'Press' in it.
