Based on what we are seeing so far things are going to get really contentious. The GOP is on the warpath against the very nature of this country itself and all of its institutions. They are working on their "shock and awe" performance as we speak.

1. The press will turn on them...

This connection between Tillerson, Manafort and Putin (and a few other cabinet picks) is gonna be scrutinized until it comes to fruition.

If Shumer really is going to try (if he has the authority) to hold up appointments until the paperwork is done correctly. That'll be enough time for the democrats to go on the offensive.

If the press doesn't start putting a little pressure on Trump, I will be a little concerned, but if you look at the first order of business the republicans took up (the ethics board or whatever). They backed off. The republicans are in control and they don't even have the balls to complete their first act.

That's how they'll go down in history. They're too lazy and/or afraid to do their job.
