(131,105 posts)they were deliberate; asked couple questions, asked to review some testimony and asked for clarification about an instruction from the judge.
Questions asked about 'hearsay' and 'circumstantial' evidence.

(32,077 posts)If he pled guilty he would have immediately gone to prison for life. By opting for a trial he got to spend many months more on the outside and now he will go to jail for life. At his age those many months were probably a significant percent of the rest of his life.

(29,149 posts)I read an article the other day that said during a lunch recess sandusky was looking through his attorney's files after one of the victim's testimony to try to make the case that the kid's behavioral/grade issues (which had been discussed on the stand) started after he quit second mile. Even in the face of all this testimony, he still seems to think he was helping and that problems only started when children left his supervision. Despicable and delusional.

(53,661 posts)I hate to say it in general, but it would make my week to see this guy doing time. It would send a message to the powerful that the kids are as important as anyone!
For what happened...

(28,394 posts)It will be read inside, but the doors will be locked and there is no texting, etc. permitted.
So we will have to wait for someone to emerge with the news.

(50,453 posts)they obviously took their duty very seriously and their connections to Penn State/Sandusky did not adversely affect their deliberations.
The tremendous courage displayed by the victims to come forward and testify to these horrific crimes is incredible and they have my greatest respect. I hope they can get some comfort in knowing the monster cannot harm any others due to their courage.
