I'm obviously not a constitutional scholar, so apologies in advance if this question is facile.
If the inaguration goes ahead and at some time thereafter DFT is impeached because of the Russian collusion in electing him and Pence, would this automatically disqualify Pence from becoming President. They weren't individuals running for election, it was a ticket comprising both of them and any Russian interference benefitted both candidates. Would Pence also be impeached?

Articles of impeachment were drawn up on Richard Nixon but he resigned before the House vote. He resigned because he was told he did not have the votes to survive conviction.

(5,455 posts)Being realistic, the likelihood of either Trump or Pence being impeached and being convicted is about zero. If by some incredibly slim chance it happens, the Ryan is sworn in as President.
