Listening to this Anderson Cooper interview with Conway. Instead of being able to report on the real story, he's fighting for the network's reputation and to get out of the same basket as Buzzfeed.

I believe the reports are true, but it doesn't matter. CNN went first and is getting slaughtered. The next American news outlet to try a similar report will have to look at CNN's rotting head on a pike emblazoned with "Fake News", tongue lolling, before deciding whether they have the appetite.

Merely threatened, as an example to other news outlets that might dare to report news that reflects poorly on Trump. A free press must be allowed to do their job as guaranteed by the First Amendment. Threats and misrepresentation (such as labeling CNN fake news) are only successful if journalists back down to them. That's when it truly becomes a slaughter.
