2. A new report by BBC suggests otherwise.

And the former MI6 agent is not the only source for the claim about Russian kompromat on the president-elect. Back in August, a retired spy told me he had been informed of its existence by "the head of an East European intelligence agency".

I got a message back that there was "more than one tape", "audio and video", on "more than one date", in "more than one place" - in the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow and also in St Petersburg - and that the material was "of a sexual nature".

The claims of Russian kompromat on Mr Trump were "credible", the CIA believed. That is why - according to the New York Times and Washington Post - these claims ended up on President Obama's desk last week, a briefing document also given to Congressional leaders and to Mr Trump himself.

I actually saw, and then shared here at DU last night, a Zerohedge link raising the 4chan prank issue. I didn't bring it here to defend Prince Trumperdink one bit, but in fact to avoid another Dan Rather / Texas National Guard flameout if at all possible.

But I am now thinking that the BBC is doing its homework, and hopefully this story is getting 'fleshed out' to the point of being not only credible, but in fact 'mainstream' and even 'golden' (all puns very much intended). Hopefully Drumpf has pissed the bed one last time, and we can soon devote our attention to getting rid of Pence and then Ryan. If that happens all in the next week, then we get a President Kerry, yes?

That is why I made points of showing other sources yesterday and tweeting. This isn't NEWS-it's intelligence. It may be partially wrong-but it was considered strong enough to be given to Obama and others. That's exactly how it was reported on BBC NEWS America yesterday. It wasn't "made up".
