When he reads something or thinks he learned something that nobody else "is in the know" about he has to blurt it out and act like he is actually intelligent, when really he is an idiot.
Take the comments he made about the"mini cameras" and telling his staff and people to be careful what they do in Russian hotels. I guarantee you he did no such thing. He learned about that after the fact more than likely either directly or indirectly from somebody letting him know- Hey, we have shit on you.
This is what makes him really dangerous. Bannon can fill his head along with his buddy Alex Jones with all kinds of kooky stupid bullshit and he will eat it up since he has no real critical thinking process. A bullshit artist with a Napoleon complex.
We are all screwed-

(4,483 posts)I believe you hit the nail on the head--somebody, recently, has been trying to impress on him the fact that there might well be a compromising videotape in the Russians' possession. Trump scoffs; the staffer might even show him a micro-camera that could be hidden in a hotel room. Don is stunned and immediately adopts this knowledge and, as is his wont, contorts history and decides he knew about it all along and indeed warned other people about it.
I think this is of a piece with his not knowing that Obamacare=ACA (a pet theory of my own).

(52,253 posts)not really, of course, but seriously, his "programming" is so simple and so obviously buggy it reminds me of bad programming.
easily manipulated; a limited range of predictable reactions; a vast database of insults that he accesses with a random-number generator; a limited vocabulary; short, choppy sentences; only a few basic sentence structures; etc.
and, yeah, any factoid he hears is spouted back as if it's the wisdom of the ages.
