Justin Trudeau Throws Some Grade-A Shade At Donald Trump

?cache=oyntafdjsl

“There are things that we hold dear that the Americans haven’t prioritized.”

Justin Trudeau promised to pursue a “constructive working relationship” with President-elect Donald Trump, but assured Canadians that he will continue to make equal rights a top issue for his own administration.

“Canada is a separate country from the United States and there are things that we hold dear that the Americans haven’t prioritized,” the Canadian prime minister said at a town hall event on Thursday. “I’m never going to shy away from standing up for what I believe in, whether it’s proclaiming loudly to the world that I am a feminist, whether it’s understanding that immigration is a source of strength for us and Muslim Canadians are an essential part of the success of our country today and into the future.”

say that you will no longer aggressively push for the Keystone pipeline and maybe I will buy some polish for your halo. There is a reason that even though you are an improvement on Stephen Harper, many Canadians are unhappy with you.

They have a government they elected.

We have a government that has be purchased by a few wealthy scumbags.

Starting next Friday, we'll have the best government money can buy.

where they vote for their MP and the leader of the majority party becomes PM. So if we had that in our country we would have the GOP leader would be president unless the Dems got a majority in congress.

Their system has the benefit that a completely unqualified asshole like Trump wouldn't become PM just because we have millions of idiots voting for him. Our way is more democratic but allows for a piece of shit to float up to the top.

....Nixon would never have had to resign, he would have had to call for an election and would have been soundly defeated.

Same thing for baby bush, and we'd also be seeing Trump voted out by the summer of 2017.

I think it better lends itself to issues-focused elections.

I also think it puts 'compromise' and 'alliances' mostly on the shoulders of various party representatives who can actually interact face-to-face. Our government mostly puts that responsibility on a huge population of people from all walks of life, many of whom end up feeling poorly represented when it finally boils down to a couple different candidates in a winner-take-all system.

Not to mention the big money influences here.

Edit: And look at our insane expenditures for the military too!

He recently approved x5 new pipelines. FIVE! Boooooo.....

The First Nations peoples are organizing, with others, to block these extremely harmful pipelines from being installed. They have dubbed it:

STANDING ROCK OF THE NORTH

He approved 2 and rejected 1.

I think he was caught between a rock and a hard place. Yes he could have not approved any of them. But then he's be pasted as a lefty enviro nut by the Conservative opposition and the corporate press. And he wouldn't last long. It doesn't mean its over though. Now its up to us.
