Washington Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D | Los Angeles County) issued the following statement regarding his review of the classified intelligence report on Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections.
I have now read the highly classified intelligence report on Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections. I analyzed the report from my perspective as a computer science major and as a Member of the National Security Subcommittee of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee."
"Here is my reaction: there is clear and convincing evidence to support the conclusions of the intelligence community as set forth in the unclassified version of the report. Russian hacking of Americans and American political organizations during the 2016 U.S. presidential election was multifaceted and brazen, with the goals of undermining faith in the U.S. democratic process and harming Secretary Clinton's electability. Putin and the Russian government developed a clear preference for Trump.
I believe Trump is actively misleading Americans when he says the Russians did not attempt to help his election chances and denigrate Secretary Clintons electability. Cyber espionage against American political organizations and cyber intrusions into our electoral boards are not partisan issues, they are American issues. I call on every Member of Congress who has been briefed on or read the classified report to tell Trump that he needs to tell the truth to the American people. At stake is not just our national security, but the very fabric of our democracy.

Actually it works well either way. Jeez, he is just a nasty, nasty, entity (was going to say human being but I'm not willing to give him that much credit).

(1,770 posts)Because, he allegedly had a chickpea on his face. Yes, I know, it's supposed to be hookers peeing on a bed with the RUMP watching. But Since the truth doesn't matter anymore, I say he's had many a chickpea on his face.

(4,341 posts)No, the results must be void, and a new election must take place, and he must be disqualified as a candidate, investigated and if he had any part of the hacking then he must face the consequences...Until when are democrats going to turn the other chick? Enough, democrats need to grow some balls.
Does anyone really expect Trump to tell the truth? but lets pretend he does...he tells the truth and he still becomes president? What is wrong with this picture?

(6,017 posts)Here's the way I see it - and please keep in mind that I heartily endorse protesting & other methods of putting on pressure and showing our discontent.
About the only way to win back anything is for the Dem party to do what the GOP did. Analyze which crucial districts will win them state level seats, and then pour millions into those campaigns. Get control of the state houses. Redistrict back to something sensible & while they are at it, eradicate the state level voter suppression efforts. Then sit back and let the 2020 census happen.
If the Dems aren't prepared to do that, there is no chance. The GOP will do it *again* and close up any fine tuning they need to maintain control for decades.

(23,105 posts)Repugs are pure party hacks and care nothing for this country, they sure will do everything possible to make sure this never happens. The orange fuhrer would never tell the truth, because, well, that's not what he does. All he does is lie and lie and lie some more. Especially, he would never tell the truth about this because it takes away from his so desired "win" and makes him look like the treacherous loser that he truly is.

(26,219 posts)In all honesty, I think they 'just' wanted her weakened. This went further than they expected and now are scrambling to adjust as their clueless asset is nothing but a blithering idiot who parrots the last thing he heard as his "new and improved opinion".
Its going to cost them a LOT of effort to keep this moron in line.
The next few years are certainly going to be interesting.

(26,219 posts)I don't think for a minute that they thought Trump had a snowball's chance in hades of winning the election, so they set out to discredit her administration. They were as surprised as we were, as the rest of the world was, and even Herr Gropenfuhrer himself.

(26,293 posts)well as they investigated Hillary and Bill but no they aren't and it's shitty of them because few are saying we should redo the election because the fact is alot of us realize that can't be done as Trump did win albeit with Russian assistance but they didn't hack the voting itself and even if they had the EC voted for him.
No what we want is for the Republicans to stop being partisan hacks and work for the betterment of all of us but they just work for themselves and only themselves.
