I wonder what has been going on with him.

Is Federer ready to seize the opportunity?

Is it finally time for Berdych to step up?

Murray is still there - a fit Monfils could upset the apple cart and young Alex Zverev is one to watch

Improved. (Stan, for another). I would just like to be Mirka hearing how he thinks djokovic's departure affects him--I think his record was worse against ND than anyone else. Berdych has a new coach and reports are that his serve is improved.

(In case it isn't obvious, I'm one of the billions of YUGE Fed fans. But I like Murray and several others. It's also bee fun to watch Jack Sock lately.)

His opponent played well, but Nole was sleepwalking out there.

Meanwhile, Serena moved through comfortably past Lucie Safarova in 2 sets 6-3 6-4. Her serve was on (15), and she's continuing to knock the rust OFF . ONE match at a time Serena

Next up in round 3, Fellow American Nicole Gibbs.

I think she wants her #1 back. Venus is also playing well.

I forgot that we can't rule out Nadal either.

That said this thread was about easily the biggest upset on the men's side in at least a decade.

From the long shot, it looked like one of the skeleton suits the bad boys were wearing in the Karate kid. Every time there was a long shot for the serve when she was near court to the camera, i thought that.

On the closer shots, it didn't look like that, but the long shots sure did! Black and white tennis dress and the pattern looked like shoulder, spine and pelvis bones from a longer distance.

I know, nothing to do with the actual tennis. Just found it amusing.

A win here will give her the Open era record and she'll be one behind Margaret Court for the all-time record (24)

The Open era record is the more important one. That's when the real competition began. And, if she passes Graf, then she can consider whether she will go for more.

It's funny, cause when they started last night, after the first game, my husband said Istomin's gonna win, and went to another room to watch college basketball.

When I told him he was right this morning he forgot he even predicted it.
