We interrupt this political discussion for a PSA about the end of the world.

The yearly average Arctic temperature (in 2016) was an amazing 1.4°C hotter than the year before, and an astounding 1.02°C hotter than any previous year.

We now return to your original program about Donald Trump and how miserable he's going to make some people in the United States. Thank you for your momentary attention.

...what do you mean by suggesting that "some people in the United States" will be "miserable." Donald Trump is a threat to the entire world. There will be a lot more than "some" people negatively impacted by this presidency.

Furthermore, I'm certain-- and I'm sure you'll agree, GliderGuider-- that his policies will only add to the heating of Earth's atmosphere.

I have no doubt his policies will hasten the end of civilization. But for most people that global impact seems inconsequential compared to his tweeting.

His election has ensured that the next four precious years will be free of peace and dignity, and will be so distracted and chaotic that we won't be able to fight the really big problem, or even just get our affairs in order. His election has definitely moved the social and ecological Doomsday Clock a couple of minutes closer to midnight.
