http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-team-prepares-dramatic-cuts/ar-AAm1b5Y?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhpNo one should be surprised by stuff like this:
The changes they propose are dramatic.
The departments of Commerce and Energy would see major reductions in funding, with programs under their jurisdiction either being eliminated or transferred to other agencies. The departments of Transportation, Justice and State would see significant cuts and program eliminations.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting would be privatized, while the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities would be eliminated entirely.
Overall, the blueprint being used by Trump's team would reduce federal spending by $10.5 trillion over 10 years.
but some of this stuff is even worse than many thought:
At the Department of Justice, the blueprint calls for eliminating the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, Violence Against Women Grants and the Legal Services Corporation and for reducing funding for its Civil Rights and its Environment and Natural Resources divisions.
At the Department of Energy, it would roll back funding for nuclear physics and advanced scientific computing research to 2008 levels, eliminate the Office of Electricity, eliminate the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and scrap the Office of Fossil Energy, which focuses on technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
So in other words, anything that seeks to reduce the damage out children will have to clean up, protect people from executives who act like frat boys, or even give us faster computers than our rivals, is done.
But the folks in red country get their jaizzuz , all dey got to du is wait for the coal jobs ta come back..

(789 posts)2. The reality of the matter is...
That tRump can propose whatever he likes. But the truth of the matter is tRump has zero spending authority of his own accord; not a dime.
It is in Congress where all the dirty deals are made; because Constitutionally, they have the 'power of the purse'. Congress can grant tRump spending authorization as they appropriate it in the budget, but all of tRump's flailing about cuts mean zip unless Congress approves them.
That's why it's important for We The People to demand accountability from our elected reps and carpet them with e-mail, mail, tweets and phone calls until they get the message.
