For the Last Time: Thanks, Obama! Sincerely!
Today is the last full day of the Obama administration. Tomorrow, Barack Hussein Obama will step out of the job of being our President. So, I'd like to thank him one last time for all he did and all he tried to do during his 8 years in that demanding office. As we look on in dread and horror, we will move tomorrow to an unknown and crude person taking his place.
Everything didn't go the way we hoped in the Obama administration, but progress was made. Despite the obstructionism of Republicans, good and important things happened, thanks to our President. We are truly better off today than we were eight years ago. For that, I thank President Obama.
What will happen next? That's almost impossible to predict today. It's very unlikely that the progress the Obama administration made will stand as it stands right now. But, we had 8 years of serious, progressive, and caring leadership from our President. For that he deserves our thanks, as well.
I will make one prediction on the eve of a new administration: We will miss President Obama. We will miss him greatly. Even those who spoke ill of his presidency from within the Democratic Party are going to miss him, although they may not recognize that yet. Every time the buffoon who moves into the White House tomorrow says or does something stupid or poorly considered, we will miss Obama anew. And that will happen frequently, again and again.
So, I say again today, Thanks, Mr. President! Thanks, Obama! We won't see your like again soon, I'm afraid.
