They will foment as much chaos, confusion and instability in the USA as possible. It's part of their geopolitical strategy, as published by Aleksandr Dugin in 1997 (see below).

It's going to be next to impossible to reclaim your democracy while Trump is in power, and is providing an open channel for Russian influence/interference. It will remain extremely difficult for some time after that, and could even remain impossible depending on what changes happen in the world and the USA while Trump is in power. The less time he spends in power the less difficult that task will be, so the first order of business has to be getting that malevolent monster out of the WH. I hesitate to add "by any means possible" but IMO the situation is that extreme, and that urgent.

In the United States:

Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics."

No...they've suppressed votes, gerrymandered districts, lobbied against the middle class, limited union and worker power, destroyed public discourse, consolidated and controlled media, worked to de-legitimize knowledge and facts asnd science, worked to preserve good education just for those who can afford it, unilaterally created unprecedented political polarization that puts party over country, and demonized minorities....so that they can elect an extreme, controllable, sociopathic, corporate ideologue and a legislature that will try with all their might to take us back to the 50's and even the 20's before equal rights, the New Deal, and choice.

Even though they couldn't have envisioned all the Trump weirdness and baggage, TPTB have waited and planned a long time for this opportunity.
