Women’s march planned for Boston day after Trump’s inauguration

Count US Senator Elizabeth Warren and Attorney General Maura Healey among the female leaders who will address the Boston Women’s March for America next Saturday — along with hizzoner, Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh.

“This is an unprecedented, organic and viral grassroots global movement that is growing every day,” said Yordanos Eyoel, a Boston woman serving as spokeswoman for the sister marches. “More than 500,000 people have already committed to march all over the country and the world in just a matter of weeks.”

Boston’s march is expected to be the second largest women’s march that day, with a whopping 25,000 participants anticipated based on signups and bus charters, organizers said. Though the events are led by women, all are welcome, organizers said.

The speakers program begins at 11 a.m. on the Boston Common near the corner of Beacon and Charles streets. Marchers will leave from there at 12:30 p.m., traveling a one-mile route from the Boston Common to Commonwealth Avenue, turning on Clarendon and back to the Common. The local march is being spearheaded by local activists and organizers and sponsored by the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.

Late 30's I think. No matter she is a powerful force for D's now.

I had the pleasure of meeting her at a small gathering about 2 years ago. Love her.

The only other one I watched was Al Franken, and he was very good, as well. But Warren really impressed me, though that didn't surprise me. I've admired her pretty much since I become aware of her a few years back.

The marches here in NM look like they're going to get snowed on.

My back is screwed up so I'll have to rely on online blogging.

I was listening to NPR and they were talking about Russia's admiration for Trump. Russian state TV showed a picture of Liz Warren and stated it was Trump's sister.

I'm glad that Sen Warren will be speaking at the Boston women's march. Sounds like it will be great.
