Obama thanks the press for "Making us the best that we can be"..Trump HAS no best....Lord help us.

Watching Lawrence from last nite and they are playing bits of Obama's last presser. He thanks the press for "Making us the best that we can be." It really hits you in the gut...Trump HAS no best...never did, never will. Lord help us.

The press is more responsible than any other entity for where we are now. Starting with the Clinton years and reaching fever pitch during the Bush years, they have with select few exceptions and rarities, completely abdicated their responsibilities to this country and its values. Even in the fact of the evil and horror that is Trump they could barely move beyond their obsession with the horse race and "both sides" reporting at best and "reporting on the reporting" bullshit.

I can't tell if President Obama just genuinely does not get this or see this or if he's just being his usual much too gracious for his (and our) own good.
