I will not celebrate.
I will not cheer.
I will worry and I may pray which I do not usually do.
I have never been so worried in my almost 68 years. This is scarier than being told you have cancer. This is scarier than being told your husband has cancer.
This is scarier than 9/11, than Oklahoma City, than the Bay of Pigs.
There are people in my life who I am glad did not live to see this deterioration in our great country.

(1,018 posts)I have had cancer, so I will say November 9th was the closest I've been to feeling the same as the day I was told I have cancer. Five year anniversary tomorrow - weird.

I used to say, " I survived cancer, you can't scare me"....I was wrong.

(36,747 posts)I had to do it. Sometimes you just hafta have a mental day. It was on parallel with 9/11/01 for me emotionally.

(12,051 posts)as my diagnosis. Not quite, but . . . damn. I'm 65 and there's a very good chance I will not live to see the back of this asshole. And even if I do see that, the damage that will have been done -- I just feel like crying.
