Irritating, authoritarian people whom you love

My father at 83 went to play golf in 90+ weather. He came back sick, since he went in the dead of heat at noon, and unsurprisingly, he is complaining of muscle pain. He calls it gout, and I don't doubt that he had it in the past, this is dehydration.

Is there ANYONE that can affirm, as I believe that severe dehydration can mimic or exacerbate the symptoms of gout? I only ask so I can get the man to drink water and stay out of the damn sun when it clearly suffocates him.

I'll never hold my father back, especially at his age, but he needs to drink water if he is going to be playing golf in 90+ weather at his age, then my mother and I see him suffer.

We don't want him to suffer.

I speak from personal experience. It can be excruciating.
