I certainly don't speak for anyone but myself but I just never click on links with no excerpt. IF you get a lot of views but no conversation, maybe think about summarizing the story you are posting or pasting a paragraph or two from it to give readers an idea of what they will be clicking on.

"Found on Dailykos" is not really much of a description - especially when the link you posted is not a Dailykos link. It's some Wordpress blog which gives the impression you are merely trying to drive traffic to your site or some site you feel needs the page-hits.
