Activists are hoping to keep the momentum alive after a weekend of protest marches and rallies aimed at President Donald Trump.
While last weekends marches focused on womens rights, activists on social media are hoping to use a rally on April 15 to pressure the president into releasing his tax returns.
During the campaign, Trump repeatedly promised to release his returns. However, White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said on Sunday that he no longer planned to do so because people dont care.
That inspired the calls for a protest on April 15, which would normally be tax day, but because it falls on a Saturday ― and since Emancipation Day follows ― taxes will actually be due on April 18 this year.

Its not clear if anyone has begun the process of securing permits or if the organizers of the Womens March will endorse the planned Tax Day events.

(22,308 posts)The Tea Party had their first big protests on April 15, 2009. Of course they made no sense because they were protesting the taxes they were paying while Shrub was POTUS.
If we protest on 4/15 it will need to be clear we want taxes RAISED on the wealthy.

(2,191 posts)I might be in. I understand the people who would like a more focused goal for each march. But reading the WaPo story about how Trump watches TV and gets enraged by marches just makes me want to march for any damn thing!
