I have avoided posting for a while - and not too comfortable with the state of affairs as of now so bear with me....
I will take this step by step from the title, and I would like to request that if you are inclined to reply, that you have based your reply on the links here and a reading on content provided.
the old woman silently protesting today:
This woman was in her 70's easily, along a very busy thoroughfare which gets lots of traffic, and was holding a sign which simply stated on front and back "Trump Lies". Mind you she was sharing the median with a homeless vet looking for spare spare change. And mind you they were less than half a mile away from a neighborhoods in our city with a median home price of $750,000.
There were no crowds or cameras or media coverage, just her silently speaking her mind and letting others know - for me that was a far more powerful statement than those who demand coverage and attention.
Saul Alinsky/Hillary/postmortem:
I have linked below the full paper of Hillary's thesis at Wellsley. As a background she interviewd Saul Alinsky and turned down an opportunity to work with him post graduation - its about 38 pages long - but an excellent read. "There is only the FIGHT"
After reading - I would be curious of the opinions about the effectiveness of amassing power... as Hillary noted from Alinsky
But you have to have power to do it, and youll only get it through. organization. Because power just goes to two polesto those whove got money, and those whove got people. You havent got money, so your own fellowmen are your only source of power. Now the minute you can do something about it Youre active. And all of a sudden you stand up. Thats what happened in Back Of the Yards.
Interestingly, after reading her paper and in my opinion only, she opted for power from those who have money vs those who've got people - and after two failed presidential runs (one against Obama) - it seem those who have people holds weight.
Right Left & Beyond
This is an article off a non political site - ''out there enough" for the free thinkers to decide for themselves how they feel about things.
I only found it relevant to today's discourse as I am personally mortified at our election of President Trump, and our rejection of people oriented towards 'service to others.' Right Left & Beyond
Among many points raised - its the one towards the end which strikes me as relevant....
Beyond the dualisms, beyond the fearful mind and the cloistered heart, freedom awaits the human race who will bet everything on love and throw themselves into the abyss smiling, without a plan.
so to bring it full circle:
- I love the woman for silently protesting.
- I stand with the power from 'those whove got people'
- While I am not interested in anarchy - without organization - and with the divisiveness of our politics - and in the light of numerous executive actions - and absent a plan - my opinion could be swayed.
Be the woman standing alone using her voice, or find your voice through organization with people....
Saul Alinskys foundation Industrial Areas Foundation has numerous chapters - get involved today and every day, or settle for anarchy.
Now if only my son had an educational future better than what DeVos promises with charter vouchers

(9,145 posts)People are organizing. In fact there are so many emerging organizations that I wonder if splintering will be a problem.
Looking at Party leadership is disheartening. Resistance is in the streets, but not on Capitol Hill.
