When I wake up in the morning sometimes I like to pretend that Obama is still POTUS for just a few minutes. I guess that's my way of coping with this disaster. How do you get through the day knowing Trump is POTUS?

(87 posts)There are times during the day where I will randomly choke up and cry when I remember who is our current POTUS. My daughter has been crushed since election day. She was so excited for the first woman President. She seems like a whole different person, very down and glum.

(706 posts)Nixon was a crook but Trump's conflicts of interest make Nixon look like a guy who just stole a lollipop from a candy store.
To quote another DUer on here (I'm not sure which DUer said this but I remember it): Washington couldn't tell a lie, Nixon couldn't tell the truth, and Donald Trump can't tell the difference.

(7,770 posts)I switch him off on the local news or mute when he comes on. But even a clip snip of his oath last Friday looks fake. He is an insecure zero of a human. There is no there there. Also cheeseburgers! Google chrome has an app that turns many of his pictures on line into a cheeseburger. The surrealism of it all helps some. Seeing pictures of Michelle and the girls guts me though because they are such a beautiful family and we have children of the corn now.

I've always had difficulty with that. I then self-reflect at the end of the day. Most nights I sleep pretty well. It's what I feel I can do. It's never my best. I do try.
