RIP John Hurt

Legendary actor John Hurt, known for his roles in “Alien” and “The Elephant Man,” has died, according to several British publications. He was 77.

6. I first remember him as Caligula in "I, Claudius".

10. I first saw him "Elephant Man", which was probably a very difficult role...

Especially the makeup.

Next I saw him as Caligula. A stunning performance. I'm sure Hurt was a wonderful person, but he seemed to have this knack for portraying evil, insane, or grievously damaged personalities.

Then he popped up in "Alien", where he seemed normal enough until an alien larva popped out if his rib cage.
