because he had died so many times on screen. He even posted a video on his you tube channel showing all the times he died in the movies.



I think he said his kids no longer asked him if he died in a movie, but how. My favorite death is of course Alien, but my favorite of his movies was Midnight Express.

I first saw him in I Claudis, I think, wayyy back when, and then Elephant Man, then looked for films of his, which was hard at first, since he was doing mostly british.
Instantly recognized a powerful actor.

Damn... the price we pay for us getting older is our memories are dying off too.

John Hurt was one of those rare talents who could bring any role to life and make it seem not only believable but effortless. Just watched him as The Priest in "Jackie" the other night.
