A mosque was burned in Texas. Was it arson?

I don't know the answer to that question, but I think it's likely that some moron, emboldened by Donald Trump's constant attacks on Islam in general, torched the place. We may never know, because it happened in Texas, where the truth is not always the highest priority.

Donald Trump, our erstwhile President, had just signed an Executive Order barring Muslims from some countries from entering the United States. That was the culmination of his daily attacks on Muslims and Islam in general. The EO said something about preventing terrorism in its title.

Well, it appears to have promoted terrorism here in the United States against that religion, in the form of the burning of a house of worship. So, how does that work exactly? Terrorism by Muslims is unwanted. Terrorism against Muslims is apparently OK, though.

Now, it's possible that the Texas Mosque burning was the result of spontaneous combustion, an electrical fault or a careless smoker, but I sort of doubt it, since it happened in the dark of night. I suspect that its cause was some beered-up shit-kicking pencil-necked low-life asshole in a pickup truck throwing a makeshift Molotov cocktail at the mosque or a gallon of gasoline from a leaf blower being poured on the building and lit. That makes more logical sense.

So, what will be next, I wonder? Will we have a mass shooting in a mosque? Will someone bomb an Islamic pre-school somewhere? Are there going to be drive-by shootings of women in hijabs in some city in the midwest? What will be next, prompted by the attacks on Muslims being made by Trump?

I'm anxious about this, to tell you the truth. Very anxious.

in hate crimes. I just can't accept what is beginning to happen and feel powerless. I'll be working to get as many of the crazy Republicans out of congress as possible .... but 2018 is so far away! Can't get here soon enough.

one of the first things that came to mind is how much more misery will also be inflicted on Muslims who already live here. Trump's campaign and election brought out the haters, and I can only assume that now it will get worse. We have to do what we can as citizens to support these people.

I'm concerned that innocent people will become the target of half-witted bigots looking to harm people just because they look different and worship in places without a cross inside.

I hope those gathering places and places of worship are being watched and guarded by those who use them. If not, I worry that more arson and destruction will take place. I hope our cities increase their patrols around those places to help prevent such actions by people who do not think before they act.

I hope we find a way to remove the man who is fomenting this from office soon. I do not believe he will moderate his attacks, but will likely increase them, leading to unforeseen violence.
