But I hope there will be protesters in front of the Capitol building first thing Monday.

Your congressman is probably already running for his/her next election. They only have a 2 year term. They want to keep their job. They will react to protests that impact on their ability to become a career politician. This is the only thing that they will react to. If they don't react - vote them out of office and put in someone who will be responsive to us.
