(18,402 posts)"break up" might mean laugh hysterically. It might mean the transmission was broken up. It might mean he was in tears. Who the hell knows?
It doesn't take much longer to explain.

(31,261 posts)Republicans win. Republicans lie, but they are very clear with words when they lie, Democrats tell the truth and bungle their message with poorly thought out speech.

(6,692 posts)Schumer was seen on camera gushing over him. I thought it very strange.
Not polite and engaging. I'd understand that. Schumer was clearly star struck. It was odd. I thought maybe Schumer is not quite himself. Now this.

Holy fuckity fuck. Trump's going to have a field day with this.
We've really got to grow some. If crying is how we respond to Trump's executive orders, we're in no shit serious trouble.

(61,703 posts)I studied history as an undergraduate. When nations decide to kick people out - Muslims, Jews, Cherokees - it's a real bad sign.
And like this time, it happens fast. Shock and awe. Expect threats, detentions, arrests, and torture to frighten the population into compliance.

(6,804 posts)Well, tearing up and becoming emotional is useless. We need leaders able to fight back and come up with solutions. Oh, what the heck, let's all have a good cry, it will make us feel better.

(9,525 posts)others are doing about it; condemned it, said among other things it shows you the incompetence of the administration not even checking to see if it was constitutional and ohter things. Listen; it's worthwhile. Also well done in terms of effective PR to get public empathy for refugees and against this executive order. .
