Something to keep in mind about immigration and immigration "reform".

We have no national immigration policy in this country because Congress, to the greater extent, and a long line of modern presidents, to a lesser extent, have been complete, total, abject, unequivocal cowards on the matter.

It doesn't matter if you favor opening the borders to be as porous as an open screen door or as locked down as a level 4 biohazard containment room. Your elected officials have avoided doing *anything* in perhaps the singularly most skillful political kabuki dance in the history of the world's democracies. Generation after generation, decade after decade, congress after congress, administration after administration, absolutely NOTHING definitive, absolutely NOTHING of a truly curative nature, has been accomplished.

Arizona, in an unimaginably wrong headed way, at least tried to do *something*. Mercifully, even our horrible Supremes saw fit to return us to Square One™.

My cynicism suggests that this is all scripted. The Jones administration will say to the leadershit . . . . er . . . . leadershiP of the 214th - or 376th - Congress, "Okay, I'll put up a guaranteed ineffective plan. You guys demagogue it to death, and then next year, you guys can propose something. Deal?"

Nah. That can't happen.

Nah.

It can't.
