A-a-a-a-nd...We're BACK! Aaron Sorkin is BACK!

Just finished watching the first ep of "The News Room" on HBO. Had to watch it On Demand, 'cause I couldn't stay up late last night.

Oh MAN! What a great show! I haven't been this thrilled about TV since the fourth season of The West Wing.

THRILLED! I think my wife and I were both in tears a little. And she's a Republican!

Finally. Great television has returned to television...

I recorded episode 1 and just finished viewing it, too....... OMG! There is hope! I loved it. (Tears for me,too.)

Even though this is a little late, please.....please.....if anyone has NOT seen the first episode, find it and watch it. Amazing!

2. Hated it. Every character has the same cadence to their speech. Every piece of dialogue sounds like

it comes from the same character.

And, the obvious *acting* by the cast was pathetic.

Hate to break it to you, but NOBODY actually talks that way.

Compared to a show like Mad Men, this was awful.

BTW - it IS very Republican, though, to take a person's dislike of one thing and act like that means they dislike everything.

Just thought I'd state the obvious.

6. I love Aaron Sorkin's writing for the same reason people love Shakespeare.

No one expects a similacrum of reality with either writer. What they expect is something that transcends reality. And that applies to both, as well.

This was one of the ones on my list to try to find. Glad to hear it was good.

I'm bummed they canceled CSI Miami. A few of the other shows I watch are going off the air this year as well, so I'm going to need some new ones.
